Adaptability: The standard tongue furnished with our ramps accommodates Class 1 and 2 hitches; the interior dimension of the tongue receiver are 1.25 inches by 1.25 inches (32mm X 32 mm). An adapter for Class 3 hitches is available. (Note: If your vehicle does not have a hitch, you will need to have one installed. If you will not be using the hitch for towing loads greater than 700kg (1500 pounds), only a Class 2 hitch is needed. If the hitch will only be used for the ramp, no towing electrics are required.)
Safety: The ramps are designed to attach to a vehicle's trailer hitch, preventing horizontal and vertical movement as well as minimizing any rocking movement of the ramp. A safety panel attached to the ramp deck prevents the animal from "escaping" by jumping off the ramp while they are entering or exiting the vehicle.
Convenience: The ramp can be setup or packed up for stowage in less than a minute. No tools are required.
Built Tough: Our ramps are suitable for dogs weighing up to 90kg (200 pounds). The ramp itself weighs approximately 20 pounds. All structural connections are threaded with either machine screws and lock nuts, or, wood screws. This ensures all structural joints will never come apart.
Configuration: Adjustable for most SUVs to maintain a consistent incline of 24°, giving a height difference between the vehicle end of the ramp and the height of the cargo area deck of 7 inches or less. (The typical height of a stair step for human use is 7 inches.)
Fabrication: The ramp deck is made from marine plywood, the support structure is made from hardwood, and the internal adjustment mechanism is made from aluminum.
Size: The ramps are 48" long x 19" wide x 3" high and can be readily stowed in an SUV.
